MANILA, Philippines - Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Elizaldy Co is in the US for medical reasons, House of Representatives spokesman Prisicilla Abante confirmed on Thursday.

"Sa pagkakaalam ko (I know), he is currently out of the country, I understand he is in the United States for medical treatment with appropriate travel documents," Abante said.
This confirmed reports that Co was currently out of the country amid investigation into anomalous flood control projects, some of which involved his company, Sunwest Construction.
Co is also tagged by Navotas Rep. Tobias Tiangco as among those who had requested billions of pesos of funds from the Department of Public Works and Highways for his district.
